Krazy Kobolds
« on: July 06, 2009, 12:53:01 pm »

I ran a world gen for 10,000 years and then embarked on a cave that a kobold group has lived in for about 99950 of them. I didn't think to take a picture before I binned the stuff up, but we're talking about almost a million dwarf bucks of stuff here, just laying around. Needless to say, I had no difficulty purchasing my first anvil.
An interesting aside, this cave also was inhabited with about 10 named alligators from history that ate over half of the kobolds within a minute of me arriving. It was pretty cool.

I once tried building a fort at such a location. Unfortunately kobold thieves had an easy time meeting their quotas, meaning I got ambushed by a squad of kobold fighters armed with semi-automatic crossbows, who waltzed past my early traps and machine-gunned everyone to death.

Impressive.  Might wanna double check the math, though.  ;)

Did you kill the alligators or tame and pamper them for doing all that hard work of dealing with the kobolds for you?

Maybe they've been there since 89,951 BCE.

Haha, yeah you guys caught me I doubt it was worth a million dwarf bucks I never actually leveled anyone up the appraisal skills for even the roughest estimate (I got bored of it after a bit and all the surviving kobolds were being very laggy). I just guestimated that one I'm sure it was a bit off. The alligators just randomly attacked the kobolds as soon as my dwarves arrived; I was quite amazed with their viciousness.

I think he was referring to you saying that the kobold group lived in the cave for almost one hundred thousand years.

You should just wall up the cave entrance at the start to stop thieves from turning into murder parties.

I would have but the kobolds couldn't actually get into the cave system, so they and their belongings were all on the surface.
