Dig a channel and a ramp with one key press.

It would make things easier.  ::)

Less collapes and it is faster.

{A macro like {Macro key}-> [D H right right down down enter / right enter up up right right enter]}
will give you a channel 3 by 3 and one level deep, with ramps.

2nd sugestion a macro profile to use dwarf fortress with a logitech G series keybord ?

could you please explain this a little better?

ramps and channels are mutually exclusive.

If you channel you can't dig a ramp there.

From the way it sounds...

XXXXX
X<<<X
X<-<X
X<<<X
XXXXX

X=Wall <=Upramp -=Floor

That's what you want it to turn into right?

But ya, a channel gets rid of the ground that you use to make a ramp with.

Or are you talking about...

xxxxx
x---x
x---x
x---x
xxxxx

And then making that outer edge of "-" after it is channeled into ramps?

I'm thinking he wants to be able to ramp out multiple z-levels with a single keystroke instead of having to manually ramp out each individual layer. But that's just a guess.

If you designate the up ramps for the layer below the ground level, your dwarfs will dig the ramps even though the surface isn't designated.  As they dig, the ramps will vanish when there are no adjacent walls left, leaving the area mostly clear.  Worst-case scenario you wind up with a handful of stray ramps to clear out.

I can't figure out the macro, though.  It designates a 3x3channel, then immediately designates another 3c3 channel to the right of it?  Why not just do the 3/6 channel to begin with?

I think I must have totally misread this idea, because it sounds totally bizarre and unnecessary.
