Does SITE_LEADER influence available nobles?
« on: June 30, 2009, 08:08:56 pm »

You see, I set my new civ's SITE_LEADER type to Duke.

Now, in Fortress mode, I'm trying to get a Duke for my Fortress, but they're not coming.

Have I inadvertently disabled Dukes for my fortress by making Dukes so ridiculously common? I've gotten this fortress a very long way, but am (sigh) willing to redo it if I must.

Baron comes first and then gets promoted to a count and then a duke, I think.

Try getting the baron/count first. Keep in mind that there's a production diversity requirement for getting these guys.

I have no idea if that actually affects Fortress Mode or not, but it's worth experimentation. Not that it'll matter much 6-9 months from now.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I have- I currently have a Count, but have 90286 exported wealth, 67586 to my home civ, 67387 offerings to my home civ, over 200 people, over 1,000,000 created wealth, and over 1,000,000 imported wealth (most from goblins).

Still, there are no Dukes.

Looks like we do have an issue with SITE_LEADER, then. Interesting, I guess.
