Smelter reaction
« on: June 25, 2009, 12:15:46 am »

So I modded a reaction so that I could quickly set up a fort and crank out adamantium armour for my adventurer while avoiding all that nonsense with HFS and so on.

[REACTION:ADD_D]
[NAME:make equipment]
[SMELTER]
[PRODUCT:100:1:WEAPON:ITEM_WEAPON_HAMMER_WAR:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:2:SHOES:ITEM_SHOES_BOOTS:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:2:GLOVES:ITEM_GLOVES_GAUNTLETS:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:1:HELM:ITEM_HELM_HELM:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:1:PANTS:ITEM_PANTS_GREAVES:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:1:SHIELD:ITEM_SHIELD_SHIELD:METAL:ADAMANTINE]
[PRODUCT:100:1:ARMOR:ITEM_ARMOR_PLATEMAIL:METAL:ADAMANTINE]

The thing is, it produced Large armour items. How do I change this so it makes dwarf sized armour?

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then you kill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.

I don't believe that it is possible to get armor in dwarf size. I haven't experimented much with armor in reactions though, so I might be wrong.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Set it so it turns out adamantine wafers and turn those into armor?

Yeah, looks like you'll have to do that.

You'll also get better quality armor that way, smelted stuff is always no quality.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I stole this reaction, bumped human damblock up to 50 and murdered two towns before being strangled by children

Solution: Use humans :D

Blast. Oh well, thanks.

The be a human solution works too, but this is DWARF fortress!

EDIT: I did that wrong. Lemme try again: THIS! IS! DWARF! FORTRESS!

I think you can change it so dwarfs wear large clothing.

Yes, but only by making the dwarves 'large' (that is, 7) themselves.
