I guess all the exrcise helped...

My champion just gave birth to a girl, while she was sparring with a guy with a mace.

Dwarves are weird...

Any of you guys have an weird 'giving birth' stories?

I dont remember if it was boatmurdered or some other story, but in it, there was a siege. Of course there were dogs fighting too. So one dog gave birth and had a bunch of puppies and the newborn puppies joined the fight.

ya, that was boatmurdered. it was during one of the monkey attacks in the first year or two

This of course, begs the question "Why are all your militia female?" to which i don't know the answer

The reason for that is that skilled immigrants often come with their spouse/husband, untrained peasants. As most of the military consists of trained-up peasants, most soldiers are married, and thus have more children than other dwarves.
