Hi,
Is there any news about when the new version of DF comes out? (I am looking for something like: In about 3 months or He thinks it will be done in 3 weeks)
I know these types of questions are forbidden, but I am really curious what all happened in the time I've been gone XD.

One kind question, please do not react with a sentence like 'It will be done when it is done', it will clutter the artery of this website, effectively stalling the release of the new version. So be afraid.

I think even toady can't guess how long will the different parts of the release take to implement. IIRC, he said he'll try to finish before christmas, but he wasn't sure at all if this will be possible.

IIRC, what he said was that he was going to try his hardest to get it done this year, and that he'd try to do that even if it meant cutting out portions of the game not ready yet at that time.

My answer is the same as its been since november:  3~4 Months from now.  Therefore, it will be out in September/October.
