Dwarven colors...
« on: July 16, 2009, 05:03:57 pm »

So, Olon Alathrimtar, the blacksmith, was taken by a mood in which he was left possessed.

During which he creates:

"Bubnusvetek, Scouredtarget, a Steel sarcophagus

This is a Steel sarcophagus.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is encircled with bands of turtle shell.  This object menaces with spikes of Carnelian and Feather tree.  on the item is an image of a dog in Steel."

It weighs 2,747 with a basic value of 76,800...

Alright, nice nice.
So I go in and look at him, read up on him...
He likes coffins and dogs... no surprise there.

And he likes the color pink.

Is pink considered a very dwarven color or should I bury him in that sarcophagus?

I was talking about importing alimunim.
And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

Colors are one of the preferences that dwarves can have - it's not clear if that was ever implemented into anything or not. (There are only about 4 colors that clothing can be dyed, and many of the preferred colors are not represented.)

Same with shapes and patterns.

I once had a dwarf enter a mood and start demanding cut gems. Said dwarf rather enjoyed the color purple. He refused all gems until I got some cut amethyst which happens to be purple. He had no preference for amethyst in particular and in fact had preference for another gem which I was never going to find. Coincidence?

Pink is the colour of the screams of dying elves. It's way more dwarvenly than red or black or deep purple.

heh...nothing is more dwarvenly than deep purple...

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
