The second one; is it a DNA double helix? What's the block in the center? It kind of looks like a dwarf head.

That's what a dwarf head looks like in fullscreen.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

You, sir, are the dwarven Bob Ross.
You took the words out of my mouth.

...Now we paint ourselves some happy little rocks.

Happy little trees...

very nice job. Did you convert the color palette in that image with a posterize tool like photoshop has, or did you do it by hand?

Well, it wasn't meant to be a double helix.  I was just wanting to have a single ribbon behind the dwarf (and yeah, it's a dwarf head), but then I thought it might look kind of sparse.  So I thought I'd stick two ribbons back there and when I was building it, it didn't look right to line them up so I shifted the blue one.

Mostly that was just an experiment because I was in year 18 and I wanted to get to year 20.  Then after I finished that one, I wanted to do a big one!  :)  That took me two more years.

I just used MS Paint.  All the colors there are from the toolbar.  Mostly that was just so I could get a map of the colors.

My original plan was to just use two colors (mica and felsite--dark and light gray).  But when I was coloring it, I realized that I needed more than just two colors, so I came up with the road/floor scenario.  Then, when I was building the mosaic I realized I had alunite (white) as well, so it all worked out well.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.  I'm really looking forward to the next one!

Well, you could make it a goblin or elf or kobold head, but it would look an awful lot like a G, E, or K. Probably not as impressive.

P.S. H-F-S that's awesome! (not "hidden fun stuff")
