Movement through fortification
« on: May 22, 2009, 10:49:00 pm »

Hi, this is from a modded game with orcs and other stuff. Version 40d. most recent orcs.

I have just had a pile of orcs move through a fortification, which I didn't think was possible.

The scenario: I am drowning orcs in an entryway trap. They run to the front floodgate trying to escape. I have a small outpost, made of fortifications carved from smooth stone looking into the hallway, and outside (a horse is chained to detect some goblins). Water escapes through this fortification to outside. I look again, and suddenly the orcs have moved through the fortification into my base. Definitely not by any legal path.

Anyone else experienced such a thing?

Sorry, I'm just trying to imagine an orc being squeezed through an arrowslit.

Yeah, in all likelihood it's one of these:

# 000802 □ [creatures] (Report) snakemen can get through fortifications
# 000680 □ [dwarf mode][buildings]   (Report,Report) unit projectiles go through wall grates, flows push units through bars

Yeah, those sound right. Thanks guys :)

I was momentarily panicked by the thought of nautical orcish contortionists.

Guess my next deathtrap must incorporate a hydro-squeeze mechanism.
