[40D] Haunted Tile
« on: May 18, 2009, 05:19:59 pm »

There is one tile outside where my masons refuse to build a wall.  They stand there, for minutes, then give up with 'creature occupying site'.  There is no creature occupying the side.  I'm running mostly unmodded, just a minor change in the raws to add a 'roughen gems' reaction.  Has anyone else found anything like this?

As a wild guess, try releasing caged creatures (and then re-caging them, if necessary). I seem to recall previous bugs involving caged creatures teleporting, so it sounds like there may be some issues with tracking their actual locations once they get caged.

Also, had you been throwing any animal cages into magma?  Could have some connection to this issue, though I guess the creatures would have to be magma immune or something, I don't know.

I had not.  I dread the results of unleashing the contents of my quantum cage, but in the name of science, it shall be done later today...

All right, after unleashing both of my quantum cages(hilarious watching a dwarf take 5 minutes to move one cage) the square is still haunted.  No dice.

Are you just un-building the cage or actually releasing each creature from the cage?

I am triggering the cage with a lever.

Well, hmm, I guess it's not that.  Are you on a reclaimed fortress?
