[40d] Animals become hostile.

I was lucky enough to capture a giant bat when I dug into a bottomless pit, the dungeon master turns up, I tame the thing. All is going well. A herd of mountain goats spawn and run past my fortress, the giant bat flies over the wall, starts killing the goats and breaks. It's non hostile to my dwarves, but on the unit list it's marked as hostile and it will attack and be attacked by traders guards. The problem seems to be something to do with how the game handles exotic creatures that kill something.

As an update to this, I've just had a dragon attack my fort. He runs up, into a cage trap, my dungeon master is told to tame him, he feeds the dragon a handful of turtle bones (No, I don't know either) the now tame dragon is released from his cage and promptly runs over to the trade depot and kills one of the elven traders packmules. The dragon hasn't managed to kill anyone since he arrived, or anything, and he hasn't even managed to obtain a direct line of sight to anyone either.
