The Triangle, North Carolina, USA.  Raleigh is a pretty ordinary middling-size city and Chapel Hill is fun, but nothing that great.

NC does have the awesome Outer Banks though!  I plan to spend really excessive amounts of time out there this summer:

Alas, this side of the continent has horrible rocky landmasses.

Yeah, I think the Apps were impressively rugged maybe 10 million years ago or something.  There's still some cool spots though.

Hull, shittest city in this sceptered isle.

My (American) friend studied there for a semester.  She made it sound like all the university kids (not just the foreigners) pretty much stayed huddled around campus.

I thought this might interest a few folks.

A Ukrainian woman's collection of photos taken around the Chernobyl area. Now, she had initially stated that they were taken during a solo motercycle tour of the area, but it's since been revealed that she was on a guided tour. Still the pictures are really engrossing, and the images of a land frozen in the era of soviet Russia are well worth a look.

I saw those around a year ago. Haunting.

Also, A few people live in the Chernobyl area. Mostly farmers and stuff.
