Help with Initial Design
« on: May 09, 2009, 10:28:39 pm »

So yea, my current idea, is to have the dorf live inside a statue of atlas, (or a dorf of similar ability).

I am having a lot of trouble getting started, each foot that I get designed out, looks wrong. It nothing that complicated or seemingly complicated, just a a foot with a sandal.

I plan or hopping to make the hollow statue, up the z level ceiling.
In this case 24 z level.

I'm more interested the stature being to scale, then having enough space to live in.

Any volunteer?

Can't really help you, but remember this... The bigger it is, the easier it'll be to fix mistakes.

So, is the dwarf living inside the statue, or the planet he's holding up? That is, if it's that Atlas we're talking about.

Oh, I know. I'm not worried the leg is being built. However, having the statue with clown feet, will look odd.

Well Atlas was charged with holding the sky up. So in his job, the statue will go up to the z level ceiling with his hands flat against z lvl ceiling.

The dorf will be living inside the statue.

24z levels isn't really much to make something like this imo. But yeah, if you plan it with ldd it'll be much easier to build.

It won't be as tall as I hopped, the site I have it flat, with all the features I wanted, well most of them. Although I can still make green glass, if I can make potash, right?
