Better Manager system
« on: May 09, 2009, 04:52:50 am »

It is kinda hard to designate things to be made in the Job Manager as it is now since it bears the 30 items cap.
What I'm suggesting is that either the cap is raised or maybe to hook it up a skill:
A Dabbling Organiser would be able to do 10 jobs at once, but as he organises more, he could reach to Proficient where he could make let's say 30 jobs at once. And the Legendary Organiser could make even more jobs. 100? 250?

Note: I did search for previous posts about this and I couldn't turn any posts. So please don't yell over me for not searching if I missed anything.

I loaded up my save in the new version, spent a minute trying to find my archery range before figuring it was the room with Xs down both sides: bins of ammo and archery targets.
Urist McCrossbower cancells practice crossbowery: Unsure of which end of the room to shoot at.

Would only find this usefull if the task manager as a whole became usefull, right now its much more effective to use the q-menu since you can also set skill limits, repeat and set your tasks at specific workshops.

Right now I doubt making legendary organisers as you sugest them would be worthwhile, as you can allready make an infinite amouth of items by simply putting a workshop on repeat. (well, eventualy he will run out of materials, but you get the point.)

Hope this doesn't constitute yelling, but this is indeed a common suggestion.  From the first page of Suggestions results for "manager jobs":

http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=27120.0
http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=30488.0

It also has an entry in Eternal Suggestions Voting, as "Better Job Manager."

I see no point in limits. High skill already grants increased work speed. If anything, the cap should be removed. Leave it up to the user to not overdo it
