I was of the belief that you could apply multiple weapon skills to the same item.

Also, I think gore is much more appropriate for chainsaw damage than slashing.

And yes, making chainsaws the digging weapon should allow the race to dig with them.(I need to experiment with making lycanthropes dig with their claws.)

I've experimented with chainsaw designs, too. I can't see how a chainsaw can be used to mine anything (except ice), but having GORE damage and the AXE skill works for anything you can think of. I even one-upped the thing - I made a chainsaw LAUNCHER - it's still a chainsaw, but has [RANGED:CROSSBOW:SAW] and a custom ammo thing
