Job: Being crazy
« on: October 17, 2006, 03:56:00 am »

It would be nice if insane dwarves had a psuedo-job of "insane" listed, instead of the current "no job", just so they won't count towards the idler total.

I like seeing zero idle.

Also, it would make it easy to pick out the insane guys from the list.

There's a couple statuses (stati?) that I think should be given a similar treatment, and they're all life threatening, now that I think about it: "Unconscious", "Badly Injured", and "Running from Wild Animals".

A little color-coding would be nice, too, I think.  It annoys me that "Soldier", "Noble", "No Job", and "On Break" are the same color, especially because 95% of the time I'm looking in the job list to see who's slacking off.

"On break" is a deep blue-green.
"Soldier" is a muddy yellow.
"Noble" is purple.
"No job" is yellow.

It annoys *me* that my legendary miner is rarely "Dig"ing (on break, drink, eat, and sleep (in that order) are more common).

You can kick any dwarf's ass back to work by activating and then deactivating them.

V - G - Move to dwarf on break - Shift+A x2
Dwarf gets back to work  ;)
(NOTE: Kicking a dwarf back to work like this makes them somewhat unhappy that they've been drafted -- use booze to make dwarves take less breaks)

Dwarve with military skills don't get angry at being drafted; dwarves with craft skills don't get angry at being relieved from duty. I have a feeling that this could be utilized...

EDIT: Does anyone know what skill-rank a dwarf needs to be in order for drafts and decommissions to not bother them?
