Do you wonder? Do you have no spare time to find out yourself? Let someone else get around to satisfying your curiosity!

Do you have some free time? An itch to mod or experiment? Solve DF's greatest mysteries that the players want to know!

Here's mine:

Question: Does world gen favor or dislike certain races regardless of their attributes?

Proposed test: Remove all civilizations and animals. Replace with six to twelve EXACTLY IDENTICAL ONES (amount divisible by 3). The only things different in the raws should be their names and whether they settle in mountains, plains, or forests (that's why you want the number of civs divisible by three).

Hypothesis: As of the current stage of the game's development there should be no favoring involving where they settle. There should be no consistent favoring of one particular civ consistently between tests.

Problems: How do we measure civs? Population? Number of settlements? Score settlements by size (the map symbol changes, remember) and find the average for each civ? If we align ethical stances so they all oppose each other as to see more civ grinding during world gen, will one ethical position be favored (may need another test for that) IE eating corpses or slavery?
