The Dwarven Fortress style choose your own Adventure

So yeah, this idea has been kicking around in my head for while. What's it all about?

I'll be playing a fortress in the game except, you'll be making the choices. I'll take the first four suggestions and put them in a poll, then whenever I feel like it I'll take the most popular one and do it, in Dwarf Fortress. Anyone interested?

If so, first decision, where'll I be embarking? May include anything from required features, to sqaure size, to climate, biome, elevation, alignment etc.

Please feel free to suggest any wacky combinations you wish to, as long as it's possible, I'll try my best to match it.
