considering the dwarves get faster as they advance through life, the armor would just be a speed penalty temp.

Did you actually wear the armor, Derakon, or hold in your arms?  Because things tend to feel heavier in the latter case than the prior case.

Curious -- were you wearing a vest, or a full hauberk? And did you have the gambeson underneath?
Full hauberk and gambeson. Made by yours truly when I was young and a bit of a nerd (SCA).

I'm a lot nerdier these days, but I've since left anything to do with SCA. Thankfully.
