Berserkers

So, say I wanted to capture a large force of goblins, and of course keep them in cages for a bit.  Do berserk creatures gain building destroyer abilities, and how long does it take to get a berserk creature.  I feel like sending berserk goblins after a goblin wave.

I didn't think Goblins went Berserk.

Everything can go berserk, afaik.  I've had camels and elven traders go berserk.

I think that only dwarves can gain building destroyer abilities from combat.

Also, I have never seen a goblin destroy a building, and they definitely cannot from inside a cage.

[Healthcare Update Thread] Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.

I've had a shared experience (albeit a weird one).  It was early in my fortress and I didn't have a Depot up yet.  An Elf trader came, but I just left him alone since I didn't have anything to trade and there wasn't a Depot so he stayed near the edge of the map.  About an hour later, I get a message that "Elf trader is melancholy" and "Musk Ox has gone berserk."  I scroll over there and the Musk Ox has killed the Elf Trader.  I eventually sent over a hunter, but god at the time I didn't know a) what the hell happened, and b) how could I replicate it on a mass scale to kill off about 100 of those $*%&ers.

If this all doesn't fix it, your dwarfs are lazy. Apply magma.
"And thereafter, all dwarven children were taught to mind their stools, lest the toilet-fiends snatch their souls from their bottoms"
Try rubbing a cat on it, that seems to help.

I'm thinking about making little 2 tile cells for each captive, and then when they go berserk, letting them free.  I'll probably have to put them right on the outside of the mountain though so nothing gets back into the fort.

Cold burning hate, for one.
