Invaders fleeing on crippled mounts
« on: April 17, 2009, 09:38:59 am »

I'm not sure if this would be classified as a bug - at least not serious enough to need attention, so I'll post it here initially.

I had a siege where the invaders (not goblins but I race I modded in) were all mounted on beak dogs.

When a significant number had been killed, the rest fled, and most made it off the map. However, some were riding beak dogs that were either unconscious due to injuries or crippled by missing limbs. Although the attackers were not themselves injured, they did not dismount and attempt to flee on foot but continued trying to ride their incapacitated mounts until my soldiers came and killed them.

The expression 'flogging a dead horse' comes to mind.

Animals, bi- and quadrupeds, can still hobble around without a limb (or more.)

And a badly wounded critter can pass out, wake up, move, and then repeat, fairly quickly, so it looks like they're moving steadily.

I'd ~hope~ that's what's going on - but who knows?
