Due to my unfortinate need fore more quick food storage, my prepared meals started ending up in barrels.  Oh well, but when i send these barrels to the trade depot... they empty in seconds as it hapens to be in the middle of the main area of my fort.  I watched a dwarf cancil bringing item to depot, rin into the depot, get the last roast from a barrel.  The barrel he dropped? Empty by the time it reached the depot.

Also, I've found that Ineed to forbid the actuall food items inside the barrel, not just the barrew to keep dwarves from getting into it, same with drinks.
