What exactly does it mean when a map has "Other Features"??

Or HFS for short.

I have played on a map with other features for five years then got owned by a zombie titan and a siege of 65 gobbos but could never figure out what the features are so, yes I would like to know

Not technically correct. I've often encountered adamantine veins that end 6 or more z levels above the bottom, although the glowing pit always drops straight down to the bottom.

I found one giant adamantine deposit that was a solid pillar that started 4 z levels above the bottom and went straight up about 12 z levels through the core of the mountain as a solid tube that averaged 6 x 6 squares and then split off into the usual branches over the last 8 z levels. Only the bottom z level had the passage to the pits in it though.


By time time i finally excavated to the bottom and breached the pit i was swimming in adamantine; everyone had adamantine stuff, i had an adamantine dining hall with adamantine chairs and tables and the nobles rooms all had adamantine furniture in them, my 30 strong military were entirely deked out in adamantine armor and weapons and were single handedly decimating, well everything, and i still hadn't used half the adamantine i got out of that deposit.

Those poor demons never stood a chance.



Interestingly that was also the only game where i had champions (seven to be precise) with adamantine artifact weaponry (and 5 of them had adamantine artifact armor as well) and i never suffered any casualties while sparring, or even permanant injuries.

Must have been because everyone was wearing high quality adamantine armor.
