How do you demote a squad? Because I've accdently mixed the Dwarves I want in the millitar with those I don't.

You mean you added some dwarfs to a squad accidentally? You can hit Enter to promote a dwarf. The dwarf you select next will be added to the first dwarf's squad. If you promote a dwarf and then select the same dwarf, it will be removed from any squads it is in (it will be the leader of its own squad).

So do that to all the dwarfs you don't want in the military, and then you can deactivate them without also deactivating the rest of the squad.

Simple method; press enter twice on the one you want demoted.

From the military screen. "m".

"a" to activate. Press "a" again to deactivate.

But that won't solve the problem of squads, zc.  Next time that squad is activated, they'll all jump again.

Listen to VP - <m>, then Enter twice to get them out of that squad.
