I was looking for something to play and I stumbled upon this.
The RPG Cliche List
I found most of it to be true. My favorite is number 58.

I'm only halfway through, but this reads like a JRPG cliche list, actually ;)

Apart from rule 22, which sounds like DF adventure mode.

Oh, this is funny man.

I like the "So Andross, you show your true form!" one, because in beating four different Final Fantasies, I can safely say that the end of the game is suaually marked by not even just two, but usually 3 different boss fights in a row, none of which you can get a heal inbetween for, but somehow end up right as rain directly after thje last fight.
Also becuase Star Fox is an awesome game... and I've heard that line many, many times.

How many of these apply to DF adventure mode? my guess: not very many.

The only JRPG I've ever played through completely is Golden Sun, and it doesn't meet as many of these as I hoped.

If i ever make an RPG, i will either:

1. Consult the list and include everything on it.
2. Consult the list and include nothing on it.

Edit: Also, numer 63 reeks of Final Fantasy V.

Heh, I actually submitted a couple of the cliches on that list, many many years ago. One of them is #11 (Let's Start From The Very Beginning (Yuna Rule)), and I can't remember what the other was.
