So recently one of my marksdwarves got a goblin arrow stuck in her head. Minor brain damage, right eye gouged out.

She continued to fight. After the goblin squad was vanquished she just pulled the arrow out, threw it on the ground and joined her comrades in fighting a second squad... thing is after the battle I looked all around and I didn't find her eye. It wasn't on any arrow I found, it wasn't on the ground or in the "body parts" stock list.

So I assume gouged out dwarven eyes don't exist in the game. This has got to be corrected!

Oh my God yes!  I could kill someone with their eyes in Adventure mode, YES!!!!!  Now if only we could try to choke people with things...

Nono, you have to shove them up the kids ass so he can watch you kick his butt.

Or maybe her EYE was still in her body (err face) but it was entirely useless and pernamently disabled.

Eyes are squishy and filled with.. well, runny jello.  If you pierce one, they tend to .. deflate.

Maybe there wasn't one to be found, because it popped?

But a dwarf could still tan it and make a sock...

The current wound system is probably hardcoded to only allow amputations for HEADs, LIMBs, LBs etc.  Or maybe it has to do with the SMALL tag.

Whatever the case, yeah, this probably won't be the same next version.

Well, presumably, the game just assumes the eye is irreparably damaged, not torn out. I mean, actually removing a thing's eye, leaving the eye intact is an incredibly difficult process, certainly not something you'd do in the midst of combat. I've always just assumed a missing eye means that eye got crushed or cut and just won't work anymore.

That aside, though, things really should leave their eyes afterward, because it makes things way more awesome.
