So I was thinking about modding in some super weapons. Reaaally super weapons. I'm just wondering if anyone knows off hand if the following is possible.

The Crossbow Pick!

Is it just a matter of giving it the Digger tag and the mining melee skill?

I highly doubt that giving the ammo the digger tag would work.  At most I think having the ammo in inventory would be enough for a dwarf to perform mining actions.  But it won't be long range mining.  That seems to me like the kinda thing that would require special code to handle without something bad happening..

Adding a pick with ammo I'm also unsure would work.  I think a dwarf has to be military (or a hunter which apparently has alot of special case code.)for them to properly "pickup equipment" when they detect they have a ranged weapon and need ammo.

Of course I'm not saying you shouldn't try, I could be wrong, just don't get yer hopes up.

You'd also need to set the entity [DIGGER:ITEM_WEAPON_PICKBOW], but given that, it should work.

I suspect you can set any item as an entity's digger, but none of it would result in ranged digging. Bolts, for example, would result in a miner grabbing one bolt(no other weapon need apply) and digging their whole career with it. I suspect that in combat, they'd just use Wrestling.

Dwarves that dig with quarry bushes might be fun :3

Hmm, guess I overlooked that.  Otherwise, the item wouldn't even be in the game.

Miners would be so much more dangerous... and every dwarf would be able to defend themselves...  wonder what a pickbow would look like...

Heck yeah. I was originally suggesting a pick that could also fire bolts, not that could dig at range. That would be a bit... Crazy. Anyway, thanks.
