DF crash on SLI-enabled desktop
« on: April 11, 2009, 05:26:12 am »

EDIT: Problem solved.

I'm using DF 40d on a laptop and a desktop (depending on where I am).
When I play on my desktop, DF will crash to a black screen (i.e. display drivers go kaput) after a few minutes of play. A short while after crashing, my desktop will show up again (along with anything I had open except for DF), and I'll get a message about how my display driver recovered from a serious error. My desktop has 2 geforce x9600s.

I have never had a similar problem with my laptop.

Is there any known compatibility issues with SLI and DF?

No known issue that I've seen.  Have you tried updating your drivers?  Does the game behave unusually before crashing, or does it have normal graphics up until that point?  Is there anything in particular that seems to trigger the crash?

I tried testing it with SLI disabled (just found out how to disable it for particular programs), and I played for around 2 to 3 hours without any issues at all.
And no, I didn't notice any particular problems in-game before the crash. I'm guessing that there's just some strange compatibility issue with SLI and DF.
