[40d] Video crashes on loading a save game every time

Never have been able to successfully run DF. The game's video will crash immediately upon loading a save game (and was crashing while trying to create a save game), or sometimes immediately upon loading up the program. I can perhaps get one keystroke in before the video no longer updates, corrupts, or whatever it is doing.

I'm running the Linux version; all of the versions I've tried so far don't work.

Can someone please help me out?

I've been trying to get Dwarf Fortress to function for about a month now, and nothing has worked.

I'm about ready to give up on this game.

Make sure your drivers are up to date and try this test version of DF which uses a different rendering system.

40d11 was the first version I tried, considering it was the most recent.

I can't seem to find an apprpriate driver for my nvidia geforce 9200M GS (linux). I've gone to the nvidia website and they don't seem to have the appropriate driver for my graphics card, even though the search function has my particular graphics card as an option.

Searching for drivers on the web hasn't worked, either.

Do you happen to know where I can find drivers for Linux?

Your card is in the supported product list for this drivers, so that should work...?  I just used the driver search function.

You're right about my driver being in the list of supported hardware.

Nvidia seems to think not.

Here's an image of the error read-out:



Do you know what that is supposed to mean? Am I going to have to try legacy drivers?
