Waves vs. Walls
« on: September 11, 2009, 01:27:25 pm »

So I'm building a walled bridge out from the beach into the ocean, and I've noticed that the Ocean Waves keep going into the walls. Has anyone else had problems with this?

I once did an nice oceanside fort and experienced the following:

Waves will "lose the power to wash over walls with the time." So if you are building the walls far away out in the water, the waves will flow over them. But if you stick pretty close to the dry land the waves will actually be stopped by the walls.

Yeah, waves will go right over walls for a while, but it seems that if you 1. keep the walls close to the shore.
And 2. wait. Eventually the waves will be stopped by the wall.
