How do I get vermin out of cages?
« on: March 21, 2009, 12:53:06 pm »

I had some elves killed and they had some caged vermin that were tame. I decided to let them out but when I build the cage and unassigned them my dwarfs just throw them in animal cages. How do i get them out?

Wait till someone eats 'em seems to work. Or so I heard.

I don't see dicks...  I'd hate to ask people to point them out.

That only works if they are not tame.

I found out you need to throw them in a pit that is on top of a tile.

Create a dump zone and mark the vermin for dumping.

Be sure not to mark the cage though.  You have to press Enter to view the cage contents, then press Enter again to view the specifics of the vermin item.  Then press D.

Try setting them to be adopted as pets.

I have some dwarves running around with pet cockroaches and spiders.  :D
