The thing I like about Dwarf Fortress and any of tributes to it is that it makes no sense to anybody who hasn't played the game.

Dwarves... mining... drinking... elephants with blood lust? The hell?

Yet it captures the spirit of the game so perfectly.

I think it's a tribute to Boatmurdered, elephants everywhere in the fortress!

You all do know that we everytime we gen a world in DF, a new universe is created somewhere, and everytime we delete a save we kill a whole world?
Aye, we are Armok, god of blood, evil, villager gutting, fortress building, legend making and elf thongs.

I just pictured a 2d flash game version of DF like Dig-dug except the enemies underground are GCS, HFS, and elephants.

Too bad it's got the SA watermark on it, it didn't actually originate there.

Where did it? I saw it posted in a SA thread, so I assume it was made for that general contest.

Not quite sure -where- it was made, but I have seen it without the watermark, so I assume it wasn't made there.

Actually it was, for this thread: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3067562&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=1

I tried to find what page it was on, but my comp isn't loading images today for some reason. The reason you saw it without the water mark is because photoshop phriday usually originate from good photoshop threads on the forum, and they add the watermark for front page use.
