Testing Community game for modded DF
« on: March 09, 2009, 11:52:49 pm »

Hello folks

I'm thinking of running a community fortress to try out my mod. Yes, it's likely a plug for said mod as well as a learning process for me in uploading stuff to the Fortress archive, writing dof reports and what not.

Anyone want in?

I'm interested, but what kind of mod?

If I find dinosaurmen trading with us, I'm playing a dwarf that has been hiding under a rock for the past hundred years.

 Then again, these are dwarves.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

I have shelved the Orbstone mod.

So, at present its pretty much a few extra primitive civs that are playable as well as the usual big four.

So, playable are:

"Modern"
Dwarves
Humans
Elves
Goblins

"Primitive"
Slugmen
Tigermen
Snailmen
Ogres

Primitive races get around in hides and have choppers and clubs and so on.

I believe I added in some green stone and dense flint for more options for making stone spears and axes and added some primitive weapons and armour for the 'lesser' civs

When you say the snailmen have choppers, are you referring to helicopters, or motorcycles? ;) Either way you'd automatically have the coolest mod ever.

Less good versions of the battle axe that might be made out of stone, sorry to dissapoint you.

If I recall properly, the snailmen are more druidic than the slugmen but not as much as the elves. Not every primitive civ uses the same weapons, but choppers and adzes are pretty much standard.
