[40d] world creation stops at 200

playing on a macbook, leopard 10.5.6

when i run the world generator it always stops at year 200.  i checked the init/world_gen and it should be ending at 1050

when i play games the goblins are always peaceful.  just wondering if it is because there hasnt been enough history to start wars.

any help would be much appreciated.  big fan of dwarf fortress and just got this new laptop.  runs a lot faster but what is the point if there are no goblins to squash?

After some fraction of the megabeasts have died, world-gen stops.  That check is first made in the year 200.  Quite often, enough megabeasts have already died by then, particularly on smaller worlds.

The goblins will harass you even if they're at peace, don't worry.  Or worry.  Or something.

Megabeasts die very easily.

It stops at 80% megabeasts death as default.

It starts checking megabeast deaths at year 200.

So, yeah.

You can solve it by either making megabeasts ultrapowerful, or making it start checking for megabeasts at year 1050.

And to make goblins warlike, change their RAWs from [INTELLIGENT] to [CAN_LEARN][CAN_CIV]

.... Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's those two.
