Well, Nehalem is the name for the microarchitecture it uses. Currently there's the Core i7 series, but there's going to be a Core i5 series of budget CPUs as well, so it is kinda confusing. Harder to have a solid name than 'core 2'

Well, there's the Core2, and the Celeron series. The Celeron series being the low-budget brand since the Pentium II days.

It's rather stupid for Intel to come up with yet another name for a product, after they spent a lot of money to establish the Core2 brand. Could've given the money to me, instead. ;)

how about a 3000 bit single core processor, that's my project...
utterly pointless

Well, you can process a 3000-bit number time, or add close to 100 32 bit numbers together (if your architecture support dividing one number into a multiple sub units), or you can address 2^3000 addresses (more then the number of atoms in the universe).
You processor will each a a god-awful amount of power just flipping all those bits each cycle.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Only if you own your own can of liquid N2.

And a can of liquid Hydrogen too.

It was a joke though :)

DF is the only game that stresses CPU's anymore.  :D

There's also Supreme Commander and pretty much every recent console emulator.
