Can dragons fly?Im in my 5th year and got attacked by one. It flew over my walls, entered my fortress and killed 5 dwarves before my champion wrestlers attacked it. I reloaded it, and the 2nd time it flew 2 levels up, and then sat there.

They aren't supposed to, no.  Dragons in DF are supposed to be based off of komodo dragons, which are real but don't have wings or breath fire.

There is a known bug that if you drop enough animals in the magma it "breaks it". The animals will swim through the magma until you reload. Had you perchance pitted some kittens or something earlier to help your fps?

I've actually been recently dumping all sorts of unwanted animals into the lava. I've noticed that horses don't die right away.  They aren't on fire either, they just sit there in the lava. The only time I checked the lava level it was 5/7 and I can see a horse's head being above that level, but why doesn't the horse catch fire?

*Post*

Awesome.

But, yeah, I pit animals into magma what feels like every five minutes. I have far too much leather/fat/meat so I don't want to butcher them, but I don't want them hanging around either, so I toss them all in the magma pipe. It was probably just that, I guess :(

You can allow or stop your dwarves from eating these mushrooms, but it's entirely optional and doesn't turn Dwarf Fortress into Dwarf hookah-smoking pad.

Hm... :o I've never heard about this bug so far, in fact I've never seen it at all, and I am constantly dropping various animals into the magma channel...weird!

Two animals have to be pitted at the same time, I think.

on the wiki it says toady has plans to eventaully have dragons flying, strafing dwarves on the ground with their fiery breath, and picking your soldiers up and dropping them from great heights.

im guessing someone sourced it from an interview of his or something, but i hope that stuff gets in sometime. as i said before, my dragons are allways a dissapointment.

mine get stuck in rivers, trying to fly. One was 2 levels up, and was not moving til dwarves got close.
