Never heard of FUDGE (thought this was a nonsense thread at first "is DF made of candy?")
It sure is sweet.

A pleasant surprise to find T1 and 3T playing cyberpunk (more a Shadowrun fan myself).

As far as your C64 nostalgia goes: C64 tape and floppy images are available on several afficianado sites and I imagine that secondhand replacement hardware should be available more readilly in the USA where millions were sold than here in Europe, and they can be gotten quite easilly at retro gameing specialists here.

I even produced a cable + adapter so that C64 can (in theory*) be connected to the printerport of a modern PC to run games from the harddrive.
*I never had the guts to actually use it: there is a risk of blowing up your motherboard as the C64 uses higher current/voltages than the current standard.

Emulators suck though... I should get me that 1541 drive some time soon.

LOL my old C64 works just as well as ever. The floppies have all demagnetized though. If I felt like manually coding everything into the C64 commandline and then running it, I'd be fine. My old DOS 5.25 disks are shot as well. At least for them though, I had backed everything onto 3.5 disks, and later CD.

I saw a article once on setting up a hard drive, but you still need the original games.

I had WINVice at one time, long ago. It worked pretty well, though of course it wasn't a perfect copy of playing the real deal. Unfortunately, I never could find the Phantasie series, at least working copies. I entertained trying to duplicate the series for a modern OS, but I don't have any notes left from PH2. I could shoulder through PH1 and 3 in DOS to get what I need from them.

As much as I like some 'modern' games, like DF, I do miss the days of the C64. Then again, back in those days I didn't have bills to pay, so I could play games all day. o.O
