Yeah, but then you get whatever that forgettable British knock-off was.  Or Crashlab, which I think is already canceled.

I think it's the cast themselves that makes the show great.  There've been a half-dozen shows like MythBusters since it came out, and none were anywhere near as good, because they didn't have Adam and Jamie.

Brainiac came before Mythbusters, goddamnit!
And was awesome.
Although I have no extensive knowledge in quirky British science shows, it could be any number of things. I know for sure we have around five knockoffs of Mythbusters here in the States. Except they always choose air headed girls to play the parts, where we know for sure Kary Byron has talent in her particular field of work.

Dammit, stop getting us actors and get us people in their fields! Except for Mike Rowe, he is awesome enough to do that.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

I have a hard time believing that's really Kari Byron in that picture.  Looks like a really good edit to me.  However, it wouldn't surprise me either, so whatever.

I don't feel like I should make a new thread for this, since it meandered off into a "discussion" about guns, and I want to show this off.

Yes, that is a Moison-Nagant 91/30 rifle plus bayonet; 1942 manufacture by the Soviet stamp on the barrel.  Eat your hearts out, all you wannabe commies.  Then eat your lungs out, because a capitalist pig like me bought the weapon that saved the Motherland has a birthday present for myself.

Damn!

I mean, Damn!

Is that in workable condition, with ammo and everything? Cause a burglar would be REAL surprised to come up against somebody with one of those.

Hey, if you've got $4000 lying around you might be in luck.  Of course, it'll probably cost $50 a round if you ever actually fire it.
