So, today I was trying to meet my mayor's demands, and so I built him an armor stand and a weapon rack for his room, and then [a]ssigned them to him. For a minute, his requirements said they were met, and then they flashed back to not met again. Anyone have any idea what happened?

Pretty sure the answer is that you don't assign these items, you simply build them in the dwarf's room.
