What does a blue ! mean?

Hi,

I am currently trying to get some elves mad (they are locked in my Trade Depot with floodgates) to then catch them with Cage Trapīs and then let them take part in a 3 way fight between my captured goblins, humans and elves.

However, how do I know that they are "ready" to be "gathered"?

Currently they are all flashing blue and one of there animals got enraged.

What does the blue ! mean? Will it make them trigger the cage traps?

Oh and whats the difference between the dark blue and light blue "!" ?

Dark blue means melancholy, light blue means insane.  You can look up status icons here: http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Status_icons

either way they are ripe for harvest, they problably wont fight very well though.

Thank you guys!

Looks like they get some action sooner then expected, there is a army of KNIGHTS (omg) coming to lay siege on my castle, I am going to throw them at them, but there leader, a hammer lord looks like he could murder them all by themself.

I was fully unaware that there are Knights (Guys on horses) in this game.

Whoops nevermind... After i opend the gates the elves kinda stood there for 2 mins and did nothing so I decided to go in and take there stuff to piss them off. They all died.

Thought they would walk out, searching for either a pit to jump in or attacking someone...
