Retrieving bones:

I've got a bunch of bones/shells/skulls in my garbage dump that I can't seem to put in a stockpile. I made sure they were reclaimed (not forbidden), i've got dwarves set to save skulls/bones/shells, and i've got two empty refuse piles. I've dumped stone in the same garbarge dump and then reclaimed it, and the dwarves grabbed it and put it in a stockpile no problem, but the bones just sit there seemingly permanently once dumped. what's the deal

this is quite annoying, i'm trying to turn this dump into my main trash compacter but I want to get all the valuables out first. it's definately not pathing and the dwarves can get to the items no problem (my leader just got taken by a mood and grabbed some of the bones to use)

Is it outside and you have haul refuse from outside disabled?

asldfjk riiiiight I have a shaft leading to the surface so the garbage wont rot. It's 8 levels below ground so I completely forgot it was marked as outside. thanks.

Miasma doesn't spread in areas marked "outside," though.  I think that was what he meant.  Incidentally this is the reason most people don't know that zombies are surrounded by clouds of miasma.

okay, now my dorfs have stopped planting plump helmets. the stocks menu says i have 200 spawn but when i zoom to them it goes to a barrel full of fisher berry seeds... wat?
