One of my dwarves has a busted leg. I thought he was supposed to automatically generate a "recover wounded" job,  but he has not. There are plenty of dwarves around to recover him, two of whom are currently jobless. But they can't help this guy out because there's no recover wounded job on the list of jobs that need doing.

Does anybody know why this poor guy isn't asking the other dwarves for some help?

While I was typing that question the dwarves finally took the poor, injured, dwarf to a  hospital bed.

Those dwarves have great timing.

What do you mean recover him?

If he isn't in a bed, you either don't have a barracks, or he doesn't have his own personal bed.  He should go to his bed/barracks and the only job the others have to do is bring him water, so you'll need a bucket.

I meant he got hurt, and they ignored him.

After I typed the stupid post they immediately transported him to the barracks.

My working theory is that my dwarves hate me, and enjoy making me ask stupid questions on public forums.

If it ever happens again, just stage a small cave in next to him. Usually harmless and effective

Dragons, the cure for any and all leg injuries. Much like the red pill and the blue pill in the matrix, the dwarf is given two options: Run like fuck, or extra crispy.
