Doesn't the hagakure say something like "one cannot be a samurai without having been a ronin 7 times at least", which is basically one of the koan like lines?

I'm not sure what the Hagakure is, but that isn't a literal statement since you're only a ronin if you used to be a Samurai and lost your lord.

the hagakure is the "codex of the samurai" if you will. And the above statement is one of the more .... zen-buddhism-koan like ones, I think it's just meant to be a little paradox.

because i wanted to ressurect it and didn't properly record my thoughts...

na, nothing important, just that its simultaneously draws on japanese mythology and makes it seem more realistic for much smaller numbers of ninja, while in the form of a videogame with only two dimensions.
