Stone and Liaison
« on: February 07, 2009, 10:38:09 pm »

Okay, so I read on the wiki that once you get the king, the liaison no longer appears.  Unfortunately, I'm relying on him to get the certain stone that my current fortress does not have.  The Human Guild representative doesn't give me the option of getting stone, so is there a way to mod the human civ to get stone?

Stone availability from trade is based on the areas that the civ is colonized in.

But isn't stone is basically available anywhere?  And stone_pref, according to wiki, only effects whether or not a civ like a type of stone.

when you build your fort - what stone is available to you? only the stones that are there.
I think it's the samve for civs. BUt yeah, I don't think that humans dig and get stone quite the same as dwarf civs do.

Now I'm worried I typed something out confusingly. I don't mean that they can only bring what you have. Just that they have only a few sites to select from themselves.

Oh.  Well, is there a entity tag or something that will let me ask the guild rep for stone they do have?

Does raw stone actually show up in trade requests?  I'm not sure I've ever seen it.

As stated in the first reply, you can make Humans trade stone by adding [STONE_PREF] under [ENTITY:PLAINS] in entity_default.txt located under the /raw/objects folder. I do this for my Human Fortress.. so I can actually build stone walls at the start. They will have access to the stone located at their sites.

You're talking about being able to buy stone at embark, right?  Have you actually seen stone in trade agreement screens?

Both are working for me, though it's untested if you're Dwarves (still playing Human Fortress).

Does this mean we now know what [STONE_PREF] tag does? Does [GEM_PREF] do the same thing? Quick, someone test this! ;D
