Also about attacking the armed people, is the probability higher or is it everytime.

It hasn't been implemented yet, but IIRC, it will be the former.

*Ability to assassiate politicians- easy to take out House Rep's and state or district officials. AKA few guards. Hard to assassinate Senator and up level politicians- aka flight to dc $1500 per person then they have to fight guards of person to get to politician-special point in certain buildings were special rare people are. it is hard to get to, but good juice rewards-Chief of police killed= 50 juice or something

This has been discussed periodically. One must consider that if it's allowed, in all fairness it would have to cut both ways, and the CCS (or police gangs, or CIA, etc.) will be able to assassinate Liberal pols as well...

I have given assassination a bit of thought, at least in how it could be done on the Liberal side (you could just have rare occurrences of assassination attempts/successes by the Conservatives in the news by the CCS).

Now, assassination of a high profile politician is not some simple thing for an organization like the LCS. For there to be any challenge in it at all, it would have to be very expensive and very risky; demanding more than just the ability to attack. Any operative would have to be highly trained, and willing to give their life for the cause. Failures would result in juice-loss of the founder and those who recruited the operatives.

Things you would need to go through with any assassination of a high profile politician:

  • Information on the target:
Without this, you can't expect to find or kill a politician. Information is expensive, and usually requires bribery. If bribery were to be part, it would have to be expensive, and it would have to involve a risk of being set up, or being turned down with the consequence of the authorities being informed of the assassination plans. The risks would be lessened by street sense.

  • Travel and stay:
Based on the information, one would have to travel to the city of the target, and stay there until the assassination is complete. Persons with heat cannot take a plane, which is the most logical travel-alternative. Thus, persons who are to assassinate the target either need to have fake identities (purchasable for a substantial sum at the normal liberal shop perhaps?) or no heat on them.

Staying in the city would require money for a hotel, and money for transportation.

Travelling back after the assassination would be tricky; thus there would be a high risk of getting caught in travelling back. I suggest that there be a suicide option for assassins with high heart, and that there be an option for assassins just disperse with a big clump of money, and possibly return to you after x weeks depending on the founder's leadership level.

  • The assassination itself:
To assassinate a target successfully, you would have to enter the area, and find the target. The target could be similar to the "mass response" enemies that walk about, but with "target" instead of "enemies" or whatever it says. The target would have to have a high debate skill, and have at least a few well-trained bodyguards; however the escape would be the actual challenge in most assassinations. Mass response would be triggered immediately, and one would have to fight ones way out or commit suicide.

I estimate the total cost of a high profile assassination gone well at between $50 000 and $500 000, depending on who you are assassinating. The President would obviously be extremely expensive to assassinate, and have a higher failure rate than the others.

As for "local" politicians; this could be pretty cheap, at around $10 000 for information, travel and escape. It would follow the same protocol, but with less risk of being caught, and less dangerous opponents during the mass response.

Just a possible outline of assassinations...

LCS is kinda more about local action effecting the nation, so I'd think assasination attempts would be on local politicians, like the Representatives (there's usually an office for one of them in all the cities covered by LCS).  Also, one has to wonder if assasination is really all that powerful.  While in the case of the Supreme Court Justices, yes it's quite powerful, in most other cases, is it worth it?

I'd just want bank robbings, the heat system to be fixed so sieges are more of a threat, anf bombings.

Ability to assasinate politicians:  Well, you can run up to some random Judge/CEO/Teacher/other and cap them, but the Conservative system just doesn't recognize people as individuals, from what I've seen.

And this is why we formed the LCS.

Well, if you are going to throw away $500,000 to murder somebody, well, it would make sense to have the game simulate if you succed or not. You will need good skills overall, and assassination would be very hard.

The only problem would be handling it. I could see that you murder the Supreme Court Justice that leans most Conservative. If the Supreme Court Justice dies, the President must appoint a new one to fill the slot.

I think the governor should be added in.  They could grant pardons to your members in prison or declare states of emergency after you firebomb the police station.  We need more local government to interact with.

I agree.  Also, we need to differentiate the locations.  If my Squad is based in Dallas, Texas the game should be different than if we're based in LA, or DC.

Yeah, in DC you can't get busted for selling drugs.  And you don't buy guns at the black market w/ higher prices, you go to a gun show in Maryland or Virginia and buy assault weapons freely.  Plus, you will never get put in prison for shooting someone in "self defense" because the federal government will intervene on your behalf even if the gun laws are L+.  And L+ gay rights becomes "Shhh, don't say "gay marriage" and congress won't notice."  C+ taxes become "Progressive taxation is illegal and the government can't provide basic services."  Taxes can't be changed from C+ short of the game winning amendment.  There's no homeless shelter, you live on the streets instead.  But that's ten times as many crack houses.  Gangsters and drug addicts are found everywhere but the courthouse and clinic.  Police response time is doubled in the university district and the police never even come in the downtown district.
When ever a ballot measure passes, it's automatically overruled by congress and has no effect.

Oh yeah, and you never encounter conservatives and only rarely encounter moderates.  Moderate challengers to the liberals are only on the ballot 10% of the time (but always lose).  The elected liberals in office hold no power and can't change the arbitrary fluctuations of the law at the whims of Congress, the Supreme Court and the President.

I think that captures the political climate of DC pretty well.
