I am using the linux version on a Kubuntu-64bit-system, of course with the needed 32bit-libraries installed.

As soon as I start a game in a world I cannot start any other game in the same world without abandoning the fortress/starving to death. The "Start New Game"-option in the main menu just disappears.

This is really annoying because it is not poosible for me to actually look up the history of the world, launch a adventurer from one of my fortresses...

This is a programmed feature.

Kinda tough to deal with one's adventurer spending several years in the world, then going back to your saved fort, where he'll have taken a sword five years in the future.

Until such time as there's a 'leave the fort to it's own devices' option, it'll end up staying that way. However, if you copy over your file and abandon the fort there, you can get a look at the histories.

You can create a mirror reality by copying the region-folder abandoning and looking at histories/adventuring there, but it won't really be the same world anymore.
