[40d] trippy island of awesome

Well, I was genning worlds trying to find a one tile island, and I found one. So I embarked, and wonder of wonders



Mining out some makes a 'rock'. Yeah, just a rock. I can build workshops and walls with it. I'll continue playing, to see what happens. Maybe I can make a 'This is a rock amulet. It menaces with spikes of rock. It is encircled with bands of rock'

If you want the save, I'll put it up on that DF file host site.

If it makes any difference, I had modded sand out and removed aquifers. This looks like it would be where the sand would be if it existed...

 Did you mod out just sand, or all soil layers?

 Still, funky stuff. I think beached need sand, and when that check fails...

Just the sand layers. I think that may be it.

 What I find odd is that it's multicolored. The Large . has traditionally been white due to the lack of a specified color. I wonder what causes the trippiness...

 What is the value of Stone?

It doesnt have a value, as far as I can see. The weight is something immensly high, 14466. If I make them into blocks, it turns into 1.

About triple-density of gold then. (Gold nuggets: weight 5796)

On a side note, do people mean 1 local tile or 1 region tile when referring to "one-tile islands"? Apparently, region tile.

I'm not sure if this should be considered a bug; after all, you did mod essential stuff out of the game.

That said, I'm sure anyone will want versicolor stones now, so we must figure out how to get them to sanded raws!

Hmm? Do these change colors rapidly? If so... I have a hunch what went wrong.
Also. Zip up your whole DF folder. and upload it.

Im pretty sure that it would be easy to recreate. Just take out all the sands from the matgloss raws, and have fun tripping out staring at DF.

And it was a clean install, except for the non-sandyness.

Wait, you mean you actually removed the sands rather than removing their SOIL_SAND tags?  Let me guess, you didn't generate a new world either?
