I'm currently working on my first truly MEGA project: A giant 20 store high overground fortress made solely of obsidian blocks.

I've just now started on it, and i know it'll take at least half a dwarven century to complete. Right now my squad of masons/engravers/architects are smoothing the obsidian mountain floor to use as a base.

This is a weird mountain, site finder told me it is pretty high on the levation scale, but the map is mostly flat... I think its some kind of mesa.
It'll take alot of rock to build, but thankfully about 50% of this 8/8 map is obsidian   ;D

I don't have the time to take a screeny of the area in the world map, but i can tell you that it is part of a 3 tile mountain area in the upper edge of the map surrounded by DF's own version of the Himalaia mountain range. The only caravan we get are dwarven ones, no elfs or humans, unfortunely, no goblins either :(

I don't know how big of a 'mega' project this is, because it only took ten years for five dwarves to complete, but I just finished a fifteen story dome made completely of obsidian blocks, rising out of the ocean. The dome forms the hub for what I hope to become a giant city in the sky. Very undwarven, I know, but the underground sections are very dwarven, complete with drowning chambers and horrible traps.
Entire city, rising out of the sea like a big tree (or fungus, depending on how you look at it). Mega enough?

If this all doesn't fix it, your dwarfs are lazy. Apply magma.
