need help to make an outside pressure plate?
« on: December 30, 2008, 08:01:46 pm »

Hi I have a sqaure of wall, I put 2 vertical bars for an entry into this defense structure. I goto create a pressure plate but when I go outside, it says no access to mechanisms and im certain i doesnt do this inside? Im just new to setting up traps & levers so any help would be appreciated, I basically want a pressure plate or lever inside the defense structure to open the gate

Thanks :)

BTW my fortress holds a baron now with all needs met and I have a glass chain , forging(non magma) and alot of other stuff done :)

Bars will stop dwarves from passing through an area, don't they?

Bars will work fine.... but a door probably would work just as well.

anyhow... make sure your mechanisms are on the same side of the bars as your dwarves

If the bars are blocking the way to the pressure plate, you'll have to remove a bit of wall or something while you build the plate.
