Wounded dorfs.

Let 'em drink alchohol.

Forcing them to drink water is indwarfane, plus hard.

And let 'em at least be somewhat ambulatory, fer chrissakes. "Whoops! I smashed my hand with a hammer! Better go to sleep for a year!"

It's because in the world of Dwarf Fortress, alchohol is in fact an extremely corrosive acid, but the bowels and digestive system of the dwarfs is able to withstand it. As buckets are made of wood, and the only item under dwarven law which can contain liquid while given to a dwarf living in the same settlement, they can not contian the acidic booze. Barrels are the only item in the dwarvern world which can contain booze without melting, due to a secret method of construction whowm's instructions are in every Carpentry shop, and thus anyone who enters it will know this secret.

Wounded dorfs do not *deserve* alcohol.

You seem to be thinking they drink only water because it helps them heal?  No!  Drinking water is their punishment!

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.

Their fault for not writing a book on the social structure on the dwarves and cause a total reform throwing the Nobles out of power and starting a new golden age?

There is no innocence before the Hammerer.  Any dorf sentenced to a hammering that s/he doesn't deserve is guilty of wasting the Hammerer's time!

Last wounded dwarf of mine liked water so much he went and drowned himself after waking up.
Or the camels chased him to it.

Bloody useless butcher he was, too. Savaged and mangled by camels on his first water run.

The Raven has been knocked unconcious!

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

It would be nice if under the new wounds system, there was some minor exceptions for ambulatory dwarves; I.E. if your hand's been smashed, you are allowed to be ambulatory and drink, but not work.
